This is so well written. We all had differing experiences of horror that day but to be surrounded by those that did not see that day for what it was and is, that would have been very tough. Thank-you for sharing.

I agree with your concerns. I am a proud Progressive Liberal Democrat. I believe everyone should have the right to choose their political views. I go to church and believe in Christian core values. I believe in truth, I believe BBC, PBS, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN news. I have become an activist because I believe the science that predicts the earth has about 10 more years to cut carbon emissions or there will be major catastrophic consequences. I do not believe Politicians who want to limit access to scientific information to groom young people to vote for them. I have Republican friends but I cannot understand how people can believe QAnnon theories and can't see that ridiculous statements being made by some conservative Republicans are just an attempt for media attention. It worked for them, they are now household names.

I became a paid subscriber after reading this post. I used to write more about my political opinion but now I concentrate more on my poetry. If you want to you can read my in depth discussion on my newsletter titled "Misinformation, Disinformation." https://open.substack.com/pub/douglasblom/p/misinformation?r=1no7bn&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

The journey brings us together with all our different views. Respect for one another. Jan 6th is a bit like the Trucker's Convoy here in Canada, seen entirely differently by two populations. I loved it myself but respect for those who feared it.
