I was reading about some of the protests early on in the pandemic regarding to how people were dealing with the shut downs and it was tied to their addiction to work. People literally didn't know what to do with themselves if they were not working. I wonder how it is now that even the wealthy are obsessed with work. It was once the ideal that wealth led to leisure and time to pursue hobbies, but no more. It is crazy to me how our economic model and has created busy little workers at the expense of thinkers. During the early phases of the scientific revolution, it was often members of the clergy who had free time that were the ones making all the discoveries in geology and natural science. What could we figure out about our world today if we had more people thinking and tinkering.

Such a good way to look at it. What could we accomplish if we gave ourselves time to think and wonder instead of just be busy bees all the time?
