I grew up in the 90's in a non-Christian home, but became a Christian through a friend at age 13. As soon as Veggie Tales became popular, I watched all of them. The golden idol Veggie tale version is called Shad, Rack, and Bennie, I believe. It was a giant chocolate bunny though. And they refused to bow down. The Bunny, the Bunny, O I love the Bunny" is the song the Nebby K Nezzer sang. I have had a problem with Christians' practical worship of #45 and #47 amongst Christians, too. But I have hope, too and pray my friends and family's eyes will be opened to the reality of who they keep making excuses for.
Great video and I feel your pain. I’m over the other side of the pond so maybe a little distanced from it all but at the same time we are feeling the effects through what feels like bother interference and abandonment of Europe at the same time.
You are totally right to say no and your message about keeping the talking going.
This stuff really affects me. To the point where I feel physical pain. When then Ukraine war kicked off I was in a mess. I obsessed about it and it affected my day to day life.
Since then I’ve managed to move into a place where I work through exercises to ensure I am controlling the controllables. For me this means turning off the news and reading books. This really works for me.
But your post begs the question as to whether by doing this I am disengaging and letting those in power get away with it. It everyone just focused on what they could control would they let them off the hook?
Anyway, thanks for your post and well down for going live.
Oh, our government has absolutely abandoned Europe. After a lifetime of hearing about the "Greatest Generation" and learning about the Holocaust, I feel like I'm living in the Upside Down.
I truly hope that this is actually the start of a new stage of strength for Europe. I'm choosing to see that as one glimmer of hope in the midst of darkness.
As for what our friends across the pond can do? Support independent publishing in the US to help the truth spread to those who have been sucked down the MAGA sinkhole. Boycott the big corporations. Make them feel the pain. Make them realize the importance of a global economy. Will it hurt us citizens? Yes, but people here have lived in comfort for far too long. We need to be pushed to the breaking point.
And we need to find a balance. We need to be informed global citizens but too much will drive us crazy. For daily summaries of the most important news in the US, I highly recommend Heather Cox Richardson, who has a newsletter on Substack as well.
Here in the UK we have a great podcast "The Rest Is Politics" which has been dubbed the Centrist Dad Podcast. They've got some great takes on what Trump is up to.
And then to get some perspective there is the Ryan Holiday from the Daily Stoic that is really good.
I'm actually compiling a reading list based off his posts at the moment as an antidote to the news. Will share with you once im done.
Anyway, our Prime Minister is with Trump this afternoon so we will see how that goes. He is going to make the case for more support for Ukraine plus UK troops on the ground with US air support.
