On the Journey 🥾
We went on vacation! I’ve posted the videos for our travels during the month of July and the podcast episodes will be available in September and October. Here are our stats for the 10-day trip.
Soundtracks For the Journey 🎧📚
I consider the soundtrack for my journey to be everything that I’m reading and listening to that is giving me a boost. You can also follow me on Goodreads to see what I’m reading every month. So here are my recommendations for the end of July:
Stranger Things (Season 4): I don’t like horror and I’m not a huge fan of science fiction, but I’ve enjoyed Stranger Things since the second or third episode of the first season, and this past season was so good. The character development continues to be top notch and the story fully developed.
Now What: How to Move Forward When We’re Divided (About Basically Everything): Sarah and Beth’s second book is what everyone who wants to heal divisions needs to read right now. It doesn’t ask us to put aside our convictions, but challenges us to work with others and find the common thread in our convictions to make lasting change. As always, they challenge readers and listeners to focus on their role as citizens, not just individuals.
Writing Outside of the Journey 💻
I continue to freelance for The Educator's Room. In July I published the following pieces:
I also started writing for our podcast, Lit Think, as we moved over to Substack for both the podcast and our new venture into writing content. These are the pieces I wrote:
What Is Coming Up Next? 🏫
Three of the four of us are headed back to school. I’ve made several meals that are now in the freezer and we’re working on school supplies for our kids, who, for the first time since pre-school, will be in different schools. Yikes! Not sure we’re ready for this new life transition.
On the podcast, I’m going back three years for our family vacation from Houston to Arches National Park and back for the remainder of August. Most of our 2022 vacation episodes will drop in September and October. In the meantime, you can continue to follow me on Instagram.
Hope you are having a great summer, everyone and happy back to school for those who are starting in August.
